This I Believe
This I Believe that life is a lesson. Life events, life memories, and relationships are a purpose. They serve as a purpose to help you grow. In order to grow as a person, one needs to face ups and downs- struggles and accomplishments.
You learn your biggest life lessons from your struggles. You are given struggles for growth, for development, and for knowledge. The lessons that are the most meaningful are the ones discovered after a hardship. How one overcomes and develops after a negative event shows true character and growth. Through negative outcomes, one discovers his or her weaknesses. One discovers challenges. One discovers strengths. One finds limitations.
Through positive outcomes, one learns acceptance. One finds confidence. One discovers self worth. One notices satisfaction. One finds joy. One finds accomplishment. One discovers peace. One finds justice. One finds a self of redemption. One finds pride. One discovers empowerment.
No matter how hard one tries, we run into problems. We run into dead ends. Life can feel hopeless. Life can feel triumphant. We fail, we achieve. We have great plans for ourselves, we find courage to accomplish them, and they fall to pieces. The plans fell to pieces for a reason. Difficult times result in great knowledge.
Sometimes we discover reasons or purpose right after our struggle; sometimes it takes years to discover the reason for an event. It does not matter how long it takes one to discover the reason. The goal is to learn, and to practice.
Self-awareness is the first step towards personal evolution. One must learn the reasons, the life lessons, then take that knowledge for what it is worth and act.
Life is full of lessons, good or bad, but life is what you make of it. One can fall to the challenge or roll with the punches. The ones who succeed in life are the ones who follow through with the latter action. The ones who succeed accept their life then make it their own work of art. The life is a lesson. What will you learn?
